2026 GUIDE · FORTNITE SAVE THE WORLD

How to earn V-Bucks in Fortnite Save the World

Save the World became free to play on April 16, 2026. But free access does not mean everyone can earn V-Bucks. Learn which accounts qualify, how mission alerts work, and how to avoid chasing an unavailable reward.

Key takeaway

Eligible Founder accounts can still earn V-Bucks through selected mission alerts, daily quests and Storm Shield Defense missions. New free-to-play accounts receive X-Ray Tickets instead. A tracker can locate possible rewards, but the reward shown inside Fortnite is the final authority.

1. Can all Save the World players earn V-Bucks?

No. Epic announced in March 2026 that Save the World would become free on April 16 while Founders would keep their V-Bucks earning benefits. Free access does not itself grant Founder status.

If you're unsure of your eligibility, inspect the reward inside your own game. Never enter your Epic login details into an unofficial “V-Bucks unlocker”.

2. What is a V-Bucks mission alert?

Save the World missions can offer bonus alert rewards in addition to their ordinary completion rewards. A mission alert may display a zone, power level, mission type and V-Bucks reward. Eligible accounts may be able to claim that alert reward according to game rules.

Distinguish the ordinary mission reward from the limited alert reward. The same alert bonus may only be claimable once per rotation for the eligible account. There is no guaranteed fixed V-Bucks total per day.

3. How do you find and complete a V-Bucks mission?

  1. Check today's tracked STW missions. Make sure the source is marked live rather than out of date.
  2. Check the region and power level. You need to have access to the zone and meet the game's conditions.
  3. Open Fortnite Save the World. Find the mission and confirm the reward in the game itself.
  4. Complete the required objectives. Claiming the reward depends on the alert and your account eligibility.

4. Which zones have alerts, and when is the daily reset?

The tracker groups mission alerts into four campaign zones, but displaying an alert does not mean every player can launch that mission.

The countdown on the tracker points to the next 00:00 UTC rotation. This corresponds to different local clock times depending on daylight-saving rules. After a reset, a data feed may take a little time to reflect new alerts: always pay attention to the displayed freshness status.

5. Mission alerts, daily quests and Storm Shield Defense are different

Epic identifies several legitimate ways for eligible Founders to earn V-Bucks: daily quests, mission alerts, Storm Shield Defense missions and certain existing challenges. Not all of those rewards appear in a daily mission-alert list.

Any third-party website claiming to generate V-Bucks, requesting Epic passwords, or promising the alert rewards to all players is misleading. Here, “Free V-Bucks” means legitimate rewards earned in-game by eligible accounts.

6. How reliable is the mission tracker?

This tracker is designed to show verified, date-stamped mission data. When the source is unavailable or a rotation has expired, the old missions must not be relabelled as current. Historical gaps are not filled with invented totals.

The production live feed still needs to be configured and validated; the demo is not a claim of real-time monitoring. For eligibility decisions, rely on official Epic Games guidance.
